Ocean State Community Resources recognizes the commitment that Parents/Guardians make to their family members with developmental disabilities that live at home. These Parents/Guardians are tireless advocates who provide endless support. As a means of assisting these families Ocean State Community Resources provides Respite Services.

Children's respite services are awarded by the Department of Human Services. Respite services are designed for the child/family to receive temporary, short-term care by a trained Respite Provider.

These services can occur in the home of the individual, the home of the provider, or in the community.

Respite Services offers the individual with developmental disabilities an opportunity to expand their social network and engage in new, fun recreational activities. These services can also enable the parents to have supports in emergency/crisis situations or even plan for a well-deserved vacation.
